upper Thames moorings

Hello, I have spent the last 6 weeks looking into buying a small boat mainly for weekend use. Living in Oxfordshire makes the Thames a good choice although it started after a day at Upton Marina when the memories of my times on the Broads came back. My first concern came after meeting two nice lads at Tadpole moorings today who mentioned the subject of lifting out the boats during winter. Is this the done thing around Radcot Bridge every year? If so is there a local 'dry land' area set aside etc. Sorry to sound like a newby but that's what I am. Kind regards to all.

I would have replied before, but have only just seen this post.
Many apologies; presumably, you have now found the boat and mooring you required and are now out pottering about on the river. However, in case you put your plans on hold last year, please post a reply to this. I have boat for sale with a transferable mooring at Tadpole Bridge.
